Microgaming recently introduced the concept of "online slot tournaments" to their online casino software.
At present this is available at 32red casino (No USA Players) while (most) US players can play at
River Belle
or All Jackpots Casino.
The games are easy and fun to play, but below you will find a "how to" to get started.
At present, most of the online slot tournaments run for 5 minutes and currently use either the "Tombraider"
or "Thunderstruck" slot for freerolls, with "Avalon" and "Loaded" buy-in
tournaments also available. There are also
freeroll slot tournaments
every 2 hours at all the above casinos, with various prizes and a selection of buy-in
slots tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $2 - $50
(prizes $6 - $150).

How To Play
Step 1: Pick your casino and sign up. There are more tournaments at
All Jackpots Casino
right now and River Belle, Royal Vegas Casino> and
32Red
casino have less exclusives at this early stage, but are faster to pay out and have excellent customer
service.
Step 2: Download the software and register. Once installed, go to the "Slot Tournaments"
section in the casino lobby. You will be asked to register a nickname. Choose carefully as this will be
with your for life no matter where you play the Microgaming online slot tournaments.
Step 3: View the list of tournaments and mouse-over each to see details of entry fees (some
are free), prizes, rules and duration. Freeroll tournaments run approximately every 2 hours and last 5 minutes.
Step 4: You can pre-register for the hourly "scheduled" tournaments if they show a status of
"OPEN". If they shows as "SCHEDULED", they are not yet open for registration. If they show as "IN PLAY", it is
too late, unless you pre-registered. Most of the standard "buy in" tournaments wait for 5 players - doesn't normally
take long to get going. The fixed tournaments are open to many players and start at a scheduled time.
Step 5: If you leave the casino software open, it will flash in your taskbar when a tournament
is ready to start. You get a 30-second countdown. On buy-in tournaments, the tourney starts immediately following
the count-in and runs for the allotted time so you need to be there on time. For the pre-scheduled tournaments
and freerolls, the window of time for playing is usally 15 or 30 minutes - you get 5 minutes from when you
hit the SPIN button to get in as many spins as you can, but you don't ned to be there right at the start, so
long as you leave yourself the 5 minutes you need to play before the tournament closes.

NOTES:
1: Once you started spinning, don't stop! You should be able to get about 14 spins
per minute on a good day (see the troubleshooting guide for optimisation tips)
so don't waste any time between spins. You will be able to see where you rank in the
tournament all the way through in a small window.
2: If you get Free Spins, this will not extend your time. So if they come in the last minute you
may not get them all, especially on Thunderstruck.
3: The online slot tournaments disables the "Autoplay" feature and the
"Quickspin" option - you have to spin manually and each spin can take 4-5 seconds to complete.
